What is a portrait?

What is a portrait?

“A picture is of a person. A portrait is about a person.” Arthur Rainville

To me, a portrait is more than just a picture of a person. The aim of portraiture is to capture the story behind the face. We are drawn to portraits because they are of human beings and we are human beings. We can relate to them because a face can say so much without words. Listening to you and discovering how you’d love to portray yourself is the first part of a wonderful journey towards having an anchor to your truth. You matter enough to have a portrait of you hanging on your wall.

“The aim of art is not to show the outward appearance of things, but to show their inner significance.” Aristotle

Maybe if we all work towards discovering our inner significance, we will realise that we are already our own glorious works of art. Art that should be printed to be cherished.

If you don’t have a great portrait of yourself or you think it’s time to call a professional, there is a photographer out there for everyone and any budget. With me, you get a personable professional who’s focused on you and helping you share your authentic story. My mission is to show you that you are your own work of art.

How do you imagine yourself? Now imagine that printed on your wall! How much would it mean to have an anchor to your truth?
